Puppy

Well, it turns out that I actually did already own all of the Skinny Puppy singles, but there are 3 full-lengths that I still need to purchase. I have added “Remission“, “12 Inch Anthology“, and “Back and Forth: Series Two” to my Amazon wishlist, hopefully I will remember to pick them up the next time I order something from them.

I am also, of course, missing the original “Back and Forth” (of which 35 were released on cassette tape), and the vaporware “Love in Vein” single, which was created but never released. And I am also skipping “Bites & Remission” because it is simply a concatenation of the albums “Bites” and “Remission”, as well as the aforementioned Single and B-Side collections.

Yawn…

I finally have a decent interview prospect, but it won’t happen until April…. Not that I have anything against the prospect of not having anything serious to do between now and then, but I think I would seriously prefer having a clue of where my life is going.. :)

I am going to bed real soon… I am trying to figure out which Skinny Puppy CDs I need to complete my collection (in order to celebrate their entire catalog!). I am only a few singles off, so I might as well staple things up once I get some money… The discs are becoming more and more rare, as Nettwerk decided to discontinue the individual singles in favor of two CDs, one for the singles themselves, the other for the various b-sides. Since I already have most of the singles, I might as well get the 2 or 3 I am missing.

I have been trying to teach myself various meditation techniques lately, something I told myself I was going to learn before I left for RIT (yet never did). I am also going to plan some exercise into my day… it would be nice to at least achieve the moderate level of out-of-shape that I was in before I left for school. :)

Hi, I’ve got a tape I wanna play

I did something I haven’t done in a long time last night: fell asleep with the television on. But that’s OK, and it might have been a semi-consious decision, because I had Stop Making Sense in. I learned something interesting about that disc last night: It loops all on it’s lonesome. I woke up, it was still on, so I figured I was asleep for less than 2 hours. I finally looked at a clock, and it had been 5 hours.

It also seems that I am more likely to wake up to Once in a Lifetime than any other song (3 times).

Did you ever wake up and feel like you couldn’t move?

I hate Center Stage

My sister is watching Center Stage, what a piece of shit.

I went to visit Mr. Hirlemann, my old High School Photo teacher, which was cool… I really don’t recognize much of anyone over at that school any longer. Even the principal retired. I then headed over to the Library to try and donate some old textbooks, etc. The lady didn’t want them, and she couldn’t recommend any place I could take them either. What a pain in the ass.

I just tried to purchase tickets for Monday’s Weezer concert in NYC but alas, it was sold out. Perhaps I can win tickets off K-Rock… I didn’t have anyone to go with, I figured I would just buy the tickets and someone would come along. :)

Yesterday and beyond

Since I never really mentioned what kept me busy yesterday, here goes nothing:

I took care of all the donation stuff, and headed to Fuddruckers for lunch with Chuck. Afterwards, I came back to the house to chill for awhile, and then went out to Café Soundz in Montclair to pick up some CDs. While I was there I picked up a new pair of boots and the latest Autechre EP (Peel Sessions 2). Bobby (who owns the shop) gave me a great deal on both the boots ($40) and the disc ($10).

James and I then went to the ultra-trendy Café Metro in Denville for dinner. Seems like a really nice place, and the Grilled Chicken with Peanut Sauce I had was really good. It is difficult to get a peanut sauce done right, it usually ends up too salty or too sweet, and they did a good job, so I might end up back there again.

We then came back to my house to watch my copy of Time Bandits on DVD and afterwards I went to bed.

Today I went to the mall with Chuck, had some Chicken Teriaki, and came back and chilled for awhile. Tonight will probably (hopefully?) be a quiet night for me.

In case you care…

I am about to resume my calc studying now, and figured I would broadcast what I was listening to to play with SoundPlay’s built-in live streaming…

Point your mp3 player at http://kenichi.csh.rit.edu:8000 if you are interested.

Update: You missed it… I needed to reboot, and only one person connected (from Cisco) during the 2 hours I was streaming (and they connected for 90 seconds), so I doubt anyone is upset that they missed it. :)
