Dunno why we were inspired to do so, but last week , and myself did some Google “ego searching” and I found out that if you search for “Sean Graham” I am now the top return. This caused Adam to ask a perfectly valid question: Who the hell links to me?
Yesterday I drove home to NJ from Boston, and boy was I feeling lousy. Not really sick as much as run down. On top of that, the drive home just totally sucked, between the weather, traffic, and various construction, the trip was almost completely unbearable. I did manage to finish “Fast Food Nation” during it, though, so it wasn’t a completely lost trip. I did have to switch between the audio book and hard and fast Industrial/Punk music to manage to stay awake during the trip. Oh crap, the half of the lousy sub I got during the trip is still in the garbage can in the car, I’d better go out and get that after finishing this up..
I slugged around all of yesterday, and slept an ungodly amount of time, like 12+ hours or something crazy like that. But thankfully after all that sleep I feel fine, which is good, because I was afraid I was coming down with Corinna’s plague.
continued to feel shitty most of my time here in Boston, but the worst was over after New Year’s. We basically sat around the apartment, watching movies, snacking, etc. Yesterday was the first time we “really” got out of the apartment, doing some shopping… I got a new supply of socks, and called in some reinforcements for the underwear supply a bit. Corinna thought it was odd that I bought 18 pair of socks, until I explained to her the “Graham” method of sock management.
Passed down, from generation to generation, between Graham family men, is the Graham Method for Sock Replacement: When some socks in your supply start displaying wear, throw out ALL of your socks and replace your entire supply. This way, you never have to worry about mis-matched socks, and you minimize the “uneven wear” problem.
I was going to go home today, but I kinda feel jipped after Corinna’s sickness, so I am going to head out to see Big Fish with the SNFC tonight. This means that I will be leaving for NJ tomorrow morning instead of this evening.
In a moment of quasi-sarcasm last night I blurted out my motto for
2004:
2004 is gonna suck.
My jaded cynic self aside, I really hope I am wrong… Getting a job
would certainly help this year get off to the right start.
I have mixed feelings about last night. ended up
staying behind because she was still sick as hell. She apparently slept the
entire time I was gone. So that sucks. And eric’s party was fun, but lots
of his e2 friends were there. Of
the ones I have met (at various parties, etc.), a handful are cool, and the
rest are e2 snobs. I was blown off by 3 different people once they finished
asking me if I was a “noder” or was from e3. I may be a gigantic nerd, and
I may be a bit anti-social, but I can have conversations with people outside
my social circle without resorting to geek-elitism. So I was kind of
irritated by that, but there were enough cool people I didn’t know there
that I was able to cope.
After 2am, I was getting ready to go, and and
were in no shape to drive, so I offered to give them
a lift. Adam remembered that a group of friends were hanging at the Eliot
Hotel down in Kenmore, and asked that I drop them off there instead of their
house, which was no problem to me. I decided to go to the hotel because I
hadn’t seen Todd in awhile. We ended up hanging out there until 5am, just
bullshitting and stuff, and then I drove the boys back to Cambridge, and
returned myself to Brighton. Parking sucked as always, and I managed to
squeeze Maude into an unbelievably small spot after searching for 30 minutes.
is feeling better today but is still pretty rough
around the edges, and is in bed sleeping/resting. I still don’t feel sick,
so perhaps I have done a good job of quarantining.
Well, not quite yet, I guess, but I don’t know if I will get a chance to update again tonight, so….
My trip up to Boston was pretty uneventful yesterday. has the flu, so I have been keeping my distance from her as to avoid infection. Last night I went to ’s place to hang out with him and . I figure that needed the rest, and I was less likely to get sick if I wasn’t here. I hadn’t seen Matt in ages, and it’s always a blast to hang with Adam, especially when he is cranked out on sugar cookies and Hostess Cupcakes.
Matt introduced me to the glory of Mario Kart: Double Dash, a game which I am now going to HAVE to purchase. Of course, that will mean that I am also going to want the ‘cube Broadband adapter so I can play it online over Warp Pipe. This will obviously have to wait until I get some cash.
I ran some errands for coco today, and also got the hardware to replace the guts of her toilet tank, which was running. She had the old-school arm/ball valve, so I replaced it with one of the more modern “floating canister” ones, as well as replaced the flapper. It doesn’t run anymore and works like a champ. I had originally planned on just replacing the flapper, since that is why it was running, but it was \$5 for a new flapper, and \$10 for an entire kit to replace everything. I figured a bit of preventative replacement was in order.
There’s a party at Eric’s tonight, but I may bail on it if coco is still feeling really sick. She was saying she’d be up for it this morning, but I think the reality of the situation is much different from her perception. :)
Chuck and I went over to play Monopoly with Martin and Jenn last night. We played two games, both of which I was out pretty early. In both I had some unlucky rolls early on in the game and it handicapped me for the rest of the game.
After the game, however, Martin popped in ATV Offroad Fury into his PS2 and showed us the Ice Hockey mode, which is total fun. We played that for another hour or so, and finished the night with a bit of tricking in the normal ATV mode.
I’m waiting for Chuck to call. The computer he built the other day died, so we have to go down to the store and see if we can get some good service or if we have to crack skulls.
I really hope he isn’t a child molester, because this song is perfect. Guilt won’t change the song, but it would probably taint it… It’s already pretty tainted just with the allegations.
I have been putting my iTunes Music Store money to good use, filling in my collection with a bunch of tracks by artists who’s entire albums i’m not very interested in owning. Also a few songs I’m too ashamed to buy in a real store.
God, I hope I get a job soon, I haven’t been in a record store in forever. (And no, my priorities are NOT skewed).
