Lame
I set up MovableType for the new Sunday Night Film Club webpage because I was feeling incredibly lazy… Of course, it looks amazingly generic, but I don’t care, really… Perhaps a members with some graphic design/html skills will volunteer their services or something. It’s not that big of a deal, I’d rather have a generic looking page that provided the necessary information than a page that wasn’t updated for months before going down the toilet completely.
Anyone have any experience programmatically posting to Craigslist?

Sucky day so far
I went out at like 2pm yesterday to dig my car out somewhat so I didn’t have to do it all this morning.. That took about 1.5 hours… This morning I had a dentist’s appointment at 8:30a, so I woke up at like 7:20a, took a quick shower, and went down to re-dig out my car (as I knew it’d be plowed in again). I was right, but the snow today was much more dense than yesterday so it was a backbreaking exercise… I was kind of a dick and dug my car out JUST enough to get it out and on the road, I should have cleared out the spot, but I was late for my appointment as it was.
I made it there nearly on time, only because I found easy parking in Cambridge… They took care of business, and I was out of there in 90 minutes. I had my crown installed and two out of three cavities filled. The remaining cavity will be filled next monday. Hopefully now that I’ve started flossing daily my teeth will be less of a problem. It took an hour to get from there to work, most of which spent getting through Alewife and onto Rt. 2. I forgot to bring the faceplate for my car stereo, so it was a frustratingly quiet drive… The quiet drive home is going to suck too…. I am not planning on staying here too late today, though, as I am going to need to find a parking space in Brighton…
Justified?
Looking out the window this morning I can’t help but feel justified in my decision to avoid Rochester this weekend…. They are saying this storm will total out at 28-38 inches. That’s a good-god-damned amount of snow!
Old Skool
Who knew my ancestors were into ASCII art too:
Undeletable AVI files in WindowsXP
Stupid-ass Microsoft.
I have had these AVI files on my disk that I have been unable to delete for weeks… I did some hunting and apparently there is some bug in this shmedia.dll
that causes some AVI files (possibly only Divx ones?) to be undeletable. I found a few hacks that let me delete the files by killing explorer.exe
and deleting them in the shell when it wasn’t running, but I wanted to fix the actual problem and not have to work around it all the time. It turns out if you delete the following registry key will prevent the offending DLL from loading:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}\InProcServer32
I have no idea if this has any negative ramifications, and mucking around in the registry isn’t for the feint of heart, so YMMV and don’t blame me if your computer explodes.
Palmdale Transcriptions
I went back and transcribed my three phoneposts that I posted while in Palmdale for those of you that couldn’t/wouldn’t listen to my voice. :)
Backing Out
After thinking long and hard about it today, I’ve decided to skip on Rochester this weekend… It looks like the weather is going to be nasty today thru tomorrow, and I simply don’t feel up to the trip… Sorry, y’all…
