Well....
Quite a few people have downloaded my LJ client, with only one complaint/bug report earlier today (which has been addressed), I guess I couldn’t have completely boned things up… :)

I stopped waiting for the original author to do something with my patches to the BeOS LiveJournal client, so I decided to clean up everything I had, add a few more features (like posting to alternate journals, using alternate pictures, etc) and release it. AliveJournal was born. I think it is pretty decent software, and I will be continuing to maintain it for some time to come. You can see some screenshots here, if you are interested.
I have Calculus and a Gannett Lecture for Senior Seminar tonight. The last one was a yawner, but I was also really sick at the time. Hopefully it won’t be as bad tonight. :)
Today I met with my advisor for my CS Department “Exit Interview”. It was kinda bizarre; he mostly asked me questions about what I thought was good in the program, what I thought wasn’t. I got a neat little pocket knife on the way out that says “RIT Department of Computer Science” printed on it. Afterwards, I got my calc exam back today… I didn’t do wonderfully, but I didn’t completely tank it either. I still need to work really hard in order to pass the course, however.
I was feeling kinda burned out today, so I sat down to watch The Filth and the Fury after dinner. It is a documentary on the Sex Pistols, and I was fairly certain that My Roommate, Jon Parise wouldn’t want to watch it (mostly because he said so). So while he was teaching his lab, I popped it in. I am a sucker for documentaries, and ones on music, it was pretty good. It gave a good idea of the genesis of the band, and the punk movement in general. There was a second documentary on the disc about the Punk scene in general, which was interesting as well.
You can re-release it, you can remix it, but when it comes down to it, bad music is still bad.
It seems that the Sprite slot on the Drink machine sticks and dumps its entire contents out from time to time. Bill and I (the software guys) believe this is a hardware (either mechanical or electronic) problem, and of course, the hardware guys think otherwise. :) The one thing we have going for us is that it is the same slot every time, and all the other slots work fine…
I am fairly certain that the changes I made to the LJ client last night work, but one person replied in the support area saying they still had problems…. I guess I will have to wait and see.
There was a bug in the BeOS LiveJournal client that has kept it from working at all for the past few weeks. There was an off-by-one error which turned “OK” into “O” in a test, which caused the login to hang.
Anyway, I sat down and fixed this bug and few others I found.
After a kinda rough nights sleep, I am starting to feel a little better. After dealing with a few annoying things today, I just have my stupid Chem lab report to do… Not to be cocky, but I got a 99% on the last one, and I glided that one, so…
House meeting in a little while, then probably some Sopranos, the second season reruns start tonight.
I guess that pretty much wraps up this weekend… I had a good time, especially at Lindsay’s last night. I’m looking forward to the College Bowl next weekend.
I am feeling less congested today, but it has progressed into a bit of a cough…. That is usually the beginning of the end for me though, so I hope to be done with this cold soon. This weekend I have to whip up a Lab Report for Chem, a short essay for Senior Seminar, and that’s about it (fortunately). I need to cool down this weekend and get a bit of relaxation, because this was a stressful week.
Ran some errands this morning, nothing too exciting. Had some Taco Bell for lunch, which was cool. I used to eat a lot more Taco Bell back “in the day”, but haven’t had much of it lately (which isn’t a bad thing). The good news is that the Rochester bell that usually completely bones up my order got it completely correct today! In fact, my general bad luck with getting my order screwed up at any eating establishment seems to have been suspended lately.
I have sat down to try to do many things today, ranging from working on schoolwork, to drink, to even watching television, and none of it can keep my attention. I guess it might be related to the plague I am currently fighting, and the Dayquil I am taking to try and fight it…
Read This now if you care about LiveJournal.
I need a shopvac to suck all this snot from my skull….. :(
