People in Boston are freaking out because “mysterious packages with circuit boards” have been found mounted below bridges in Boston.
It turns out, it’s looking more and more like a guerrilla marketing for the new Aqua Teen Hunger Force film:
(from Vanderlin)
And it’s not just Boston, Here’s one in Philly:
(from xjohnpaulx)
I’m not a fan of the show, but this is awesome… I predict this will be a HUGE to-do, since the bomb squad was deployed all over the city to dismantle and destroy these “IEDs”.
Update: Here’s another closeup of one of the Boston “Devices”:
(From MyFoxBoston.com)
We saw one of those stuck to the side of the MIT Museum near Central. Thought it was weird at the time, but so are people at MIT, so I didn’t give it a second thought…
And that was over two weeks ago that we saw it. Where were they on that one?
I think they’ve all been up for weeks… If you look at the flickr photos I posted the dates are all from awhile ago…
Hahaha that is awesome. Someone is either going to get fired, or promoted.
Someone came up with “ILB”:
Improvised Light Brite — haha.
“Did you hear what I said, Boston? Or shall I turn it up for you?”
so awesome.
I think they are all just smoking too much Moonjuana
Looks like it was an advertisement:

I’m sure the police will blame the advertiser, but I wonder how much they are at fault for overreacting/not being up on what’s hip.
I didn’t need any statement to figure out what it was:
(from above).
here is the trailer.
As awesome as this whole thing was, it wasn’t awesome enough to make me actually want to see the flick.. :)
Nice. =)
Well, almost everything tagged “lightsnipes” (the guerilla marketing company’s name for this…advertising channel) has been removed from Flickr. And their site is blanked out.
That didn’t take long.
This rules.
