So I finally disconnected the aforementioned Belkin KVM Switch. The persistent key problem I spoke of yesterday wasn’t going away, even after I tried a different keyboard (which I had to go out and “rent” from Micro Center). I spoke to a Belkin rep on the phone yesterday and he said that if a different keyboard didn’t fix the problem then I would have to RMA the unit, which eats it. I filled out the RMA request on their website a few minutes ago, but I’m sure I won’t get a response any time soon…
At least my other birthday present works right… It just sucks that I have to manually switch cables between the two machines again for a few weeks while Belkin sends me a replacement. And to be honest, I expect that I will have the same problem with the replacement. When one of your primary applications is Vim, this persistent keypress bug is pretty frustrating…
ask rob ()… they made the KVM’s here in rochester…. at least they designed the later models here… the one you have might have been outsourced to another company or something…
If grahams was having problems with the rackmount, 16 host KVM’s (and not even all models of them) then maybe. But, I, and the whole Rochester facility, had nothing to do with the home market KVM’s. I’ve never even seen the USB home KVM’s…
Oh yeah, I forgot to add, “I’m sorry”.
I never would have even thought it had anything to do with you…. :)
