Go and read this press release for the details, but there isn’t much to it. Palm is purchasing the assets, technology, and hiring talent from Be. I would expect this marks the end of BeOS development, but who knows…

Crap. That’s so bittersweet.
It’s great that Palm will be leveraging beia, but as you say, it kills any hope of further beos development. The press release is a little sketchy- is Palm buying some or all of be? It will also be interesting to see if it will affect
be’s previous licensing arrangements with Sony.
At least be didnt get delisted and end up on fc ;)
