Kevin Smith recently revealed the weirdest script he’s ever been asked to direct was to star Michael Jackson as a man who morphs into a car that drives around a young boy. The title: “Hot Rod.”
I forgot to mention that while I was home in NJ this weekend I ripped and encoded all of the Good Eats episode that had built up on the TiVo in my absence. The Good Eats Divx archive is now complete (or at least, current) and all episodes have been captured and verified. For quite awhile I had a nearly-complete archive, but I had two episodes which had broken encoding and needed replacement. This weekend those two episodes were replaced, and I also encoded two new episodes this season. Now everything is “up to date”.
Last night I scheduled an installation appointment for Cable and Internet in the apartment. It was getting rather annoying not having Internet, and it is cheaper to get both than only get one of the services. So I got Digital Cable with HBO, which I think means I get HBO On Demand too, so I can catch up on missing Sopranos episodes. I will also be able to bring my TiVo up here (I couldn’t before because there is no POTS in the house, and since we had no net the TiVo couldn’t “phone home” for program guide data, etc. Now when my parents visit in two weeks they can bring it up with them!
and I met up with Audra (friend from the SNFC) to see Dawn of the Dead last night. It was surprisingly good… I was expecting to be really let down, especially when I heard the movie was “just an action flick”, but I don’t think that was the case.. Sure the zombies were of the modern “running” type introduced (?) by 28 Days Later, but I think the film was pretty true to it’s zombie roots. Even though it took a slightly different approach on the story, I think it was a good retelling of the original.
I had a great trip home to NJ this weekend, got to spend time with my family and got to see Chuck, Johnny, and Calmie too. And the travelling to and from NJ went amazingly smooth, with no real traffic or bad weather, even through Connecticut (although the only real slow-downs I hit were in CT, but they weren’t major).
Didn’t have too much trouble getting back into work mode today.. Tying up a bunch of loose ends. Half of the Co-ops got their clearance today, and we all submitted around the same time, so hopefully it won’t be too much longer, but we’ll see.
Just about finished for the day… I am leaving early to head home for the weekend… I stocked up on extra hours earlier in the week so I still hit 40. I am going to grab lunch with the guys and then bug out.
…owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve?
It would be a pretty eclectic menu, American fare influenced by Asian and
Indian cuisine… Actually influenced by everything…
…owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would yousell?
I simply wouldn’t.
…wrote a book, what genre would it be?
Fiction: Suspense,
Non-Fiction: CS
…ran a school, what would you teach?
This is an odd
question, so I am changing it. If I was a teacher, I would teach Computer
Programming to Middle/High-School Students.
…recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it?
About as eclectic as the menu in the restaurant.
I had forgotten how good payday feels.. :) I was originally told payday was Thursday, but then I was told that only Direct Deposit (which I have signed up for but is pending) was Thursday and that checks were issued on Friday, but apparently that information was wrong.
The snow made yesterday’s commute miserable, but today wasn’t so bad… It took awhile to clean off the car, but once I did that there wasn’t too much traffic coming to Lexington. And Hawkeye performed like a champ as usual… I put up some Pictures of him for you to enjoy.
I found out today that Hawkeye has heated mirrors… Whoever had this car before me leased a car with EVERYTHING except for floormats apparently… After I pay my taxes I am going to have to get some floor mats.. I want proper floor mats that hook up with the little hook coming out of the floor so they don’t move around.
