A bunch of us are visiting the Rochester Planetarium tonight for fun. Jon organized the trip sorta, but I am totally down with going.
After that, I will probably be resuming work on our Operating Systems 2 project. I am at a more comfortable level of busy these days, even if I am still busy most of the day… :)
I packaged up my changes to the LiveJournal client earlier today and sent them to the original author. He is going to package up a new release with my additions. I added in the ability to turn off autoformatting, which I like alot.
I just added another feature to the LiveJournal client for Be. Now, in the “Post Options” window, there is a button for the user to press to get the current songname from Soundplay. And it only took a few minutes.
Well, it appears that the mood/music stuff that I hacked into the BeOS LiveJournal client seems to work. It doesn’t do anything fancy like grab the songname from SoundPlay (yet), but it does the job AFAIK.
I offered the changes back to the original author, but I haven’t heard back from him yet. Even if he doesn’t want them, I have them. :)
Leaving for class in a few minutes, but I figured it was as good a time as any to slam up a journal entry. :)
I got my Prob & Stat exam back today…. 85/100!!!! I am pretty psyched..
Today is a “It’s sucky being Editor-in-Chief of BeNews day”. We had some problems internally, and it has just been a struggle to attempt to “make things better”. Sigh…
With the completion of my Probability & Statistics final today I am formally done with midterm exams. They all went rather well, and I was particularly surprised with the Stat one; I feel like I was about as prepared as conceivable for it, I expect to do well.
A few minutes to go until Astronomy Lab…. Boy that class drains my spinal fluid….
I actually found an hour or two today to hack on fun stuff. I was working on adding moods and music support into the BeOS LiveJournal client… I was just doing it for fun, even though the author is probably already working on this support. I would have had it all done, but I needed to rewrite all the socket stuff which stalled my progress. I was almost done with it when my time slice expired and class intervened.
James was up this weekend for the Moby concert. The concert was one of the best I have been to. James and I showed up a good hour early on Friday, and we got right up front. The opening band came out right on time, and they were OK. They suffered from the “Standing Around In Front of Synths” disease that makes most electronic bands boring live. But musically they were cool, even if alot of it was canned.
Conversely, Moby was all over the place. He came out on stage, ran around, sang, played guitar, keyboards, and bongos. Let me tell you something: Moby is a bad mother on the bongos… :) He played what seemed a 2 hour set, and it was entertaining the whole time. That is what live music is all about… :)
Back to work now, studying for exams this week, and meeting with my Operating Systems 2 group to plan our strategy for doing Virtual Memory. On top of that, patpat has issued another one of his programming contests. This one is totally interesting, and has definately piqued my interest. Fortunately, the deadline is in December, so I have some time to play with it after classes cool down a bit…
I finally have a beat to give an update… So, James is arriving today… He is visiting for the Moby concert, and his visit comes at a time where I could use a bit of relaxation.
Jerry has taken over leadership on the project I was working on for work. While on one hand I feel like I have failed, I now feel like my life has suddenly gotten happier… I didn’t hate work, I simply didn’t have enough time between sleep and class.
I got my Stevie Ray Vaughan CD’s today, and they are great… I also got my absentee ballot for the upcoming presidental election… I am really split on this one though… Not voting for Bush, but I don’t know if I want to vote for Gore…. Or do I want to vote for a 3rd party? Sigh…
Work is moving along, but I chased a evil bug for quite awhile today…. It’s kinda OK though, bugs happen, and finding them is kinda fun, even when they run you around for awhile…
