I made strawberry preserves yesterday…. For the fairly minimal amount of effort required to make some jam that blows away anything you can get in a store, I don’t think I am going to bother with storebought jelly any longer. In actuality, I made 3 jars of Preserve, and 3 jars of Jam. I could have preserved all 6 jars, but jam has a fridge-life of 4-6 weeks, and I knew that those 3 jars of jam wouldn’t survive that long… I gave one of the Jam jars to Adam and Rory, who assisted me in my jammaking pursuits. I think I am going to attack orange marmalade and mint jam next.
I have actually wrangled my sleep schedule back to normal this weekend, not staying up much past 1 either night. My goal is to get into bed by 12:30 tonight, which is what I consider reasonable for getting up at 8am to make it to work by 10.
My back hurts, which sucks…. Despite my posturing, I still didn’t get to bed last night until 2 am. This time, however, video games were not to blame. Instead I stayed up talking to , but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. :)
I think I am going to bed, and tonight I will do my best to actually do so without getting caught up in Counter-Strike or Motor City Online until 2am… :)
I don’t like it when my friends are unhappy, but I have learned to just let alone sometimes…
..but the first question made me laugh… So my results are:
_Goth: 10%
_
_Trendy: 20%
_
Alternative 50%
Conclusion: You don’t readily fit into the other two groups, but you’re reasonably alternative… but not quite pretentious enough to actively try and be weird. Or maybe you’re just unfashionable. I can’t tell. Well, what the fuck did you expect? Freud?
Not too bad… And it is no surprise that I didn’t rate as much of a goth…. I never did get along with many of those depressed fuckers… :) That “lifestyle” always struck me as asinine…
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Special Edition will also street on January 4th (note that for a time, it was going to street on January 1st, but the 4th is now final) for \$19.98. This disc will also include anamorphic widescreen video and remixed audio in Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras will include audio commentary by director W.D. Richter, John Lithgow, Peter Weller and Jeff Goldblum, a rare prologue sequence with Jamie Lee Curtis, deleted scenes with director’s commentary, a “making of” documentary, trailers and more. The disc will also feature Nuon enhancements, including pre-selected zooms, behind-the-scenes facts and a condensed version of the film with selected scenes only. But you have to be one of the .1% of DVD player owners with Nuon capability to view any of that (and I don’t mean that as a jab - just the facts).
It’s good to know it is finally officially announced…
The recent nightly builds of Mozilla have tabbing functionality included, so you can have one browser window open with multiple pages open within… This is something that has been possible all along with XUL, and in fact the MultiZilla people have been doing it for awhile, but it is nice to see it is included in the tree now.
The bus I had hoped to get on this morning came 5 minutes early, so I had to wait 35 minutes for the next bus, which sucked a lot… While I was waiting there was this bitter old man complaining about how the bus was 5 minutes early…. In fact, he was complaining the WHOLE time. Then he started talking about how we should just go and kill the people who “caused all the trouble” in NYC/DC, and how in China if this happened they would have been shot without a trial.
He then went on to talk about how the Israelis and Palestinians should just live in peace… How we only get to live once, and they shouldn’t be tying up themselves killing each other. For some reason I took amusement in the cavernous hole in this person’s logic, but unfortunately I couldn’t get him to stop talking and let me read my book… He then started up about the bus being early again… At this moment, another angry guy started up on the bus as well, and they both started riffing on how it was the worst bus line in the U.S.A….
The bus finally came and I finally got the opportunity to read my book some more, and then when I got to Harvard Square, the red line train was delayed as well… I am not in the best of moods starting today. :)
