is currently building… I fully setup the Secure VPN stuff here at home (i did a half-assed job before) and am currently building our product… This takes quite a while at work, so it will take a VERY long time on my dog here at home…..

I think it is probably time for bed….

I visited phyber this weekend on a fairly spur-of-the-moment trip… I could go on for hours about how much the bus sucks, but I simply don’t feel like it anymore… The short version is that I don’t plan on taking the bus anymore.. Anyway, I had alot of fun seeing her, seeing her new acquisition, and playing with her cats. We also were able to make it up to see my aunt and uncle, who live right close to her, which was cool as well. My uncle is in the military, so all these recent happenings make me quite nervous. I got to see her work as well as go to one our favorite barbecue places in the world.

Tonight I made some jello, and while doing so, I had an epiphany about some code that has been chapping my ass at work. So I fired up the SVPN client, connected to the machines there, and started hacking… problem solved, which rules, because this bug would have been a showstopper for the XUL UI. One of the nice things about our UI being in XUL now is that I can take the production installer for the reader, replace the preferences file with one of my own design, copy a few other files over, and voila, development environment. Of course, as soon as I do more work on replacing our JavaScript with C++ using XPConnect, the world will get much more complicated… But with the weather only getting colder, I should probably have a full development environment going here for snow days…

Time to go watch some Good Eats on the TiVo.

Why am I angry today? I have no idea… It’s like all the noise in this room has turned into the Family Feud buzzer and my eyes fill with red x’s constantly. I can’t tune anything out today, and it is all driving me up a wall… I just put my headphones on and turned it up loud…

I think I am leaving early to meet Jon in Harvard Sq.. for dinner… I am looking forward to getting out of here.

Yesterday, I watched An American Werewolf in London on DVD, in addition to the awful Reindeer Games. This morning, my alarm went off and Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London” was on the radio….

One week until my copy of The Godfather DVD Collection ships!

I should have gone to bed a long time ago… :) I hacked on drink for the first time in a long time, and I got the FakeDrinkServer up and running so I can test protocol handlers and such without having to deal with uploading to the TINI every time I need to test.

I finally finished reading Cryptonomicon a few seconds ago…. I started reading the book towards the end of last summer (i.e. 2000), tearing through the first few hundred pages before having my leisure reading interrupted by class at RIT. I didn’t read much until Christmas break, where I tackled a few hundred more pages (roughly bringing me to 2/3rds completion)… I tried to pick it back up again before I moved to Boston, to no avail… I picked it up again over the past few weeks, finally completeing the task tonight. And I am very satisfied, having spent a considerable amount of time attacking this monster (900+ pages)…

Probably the worst part of taking so long to finish this book was the way it delayed my reading of other books… I was find a book I wished to read, and I would say to myself “…but I need to finish this book first…”. I have enjoyed what I have read of Stephenson so far, and his other books are in my queue. Next up is Choke, by Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club…

I am trying to get Vim 6.0 to fold functions based on curly braces, as opposed to indention. This is causing me much grief.

I just watched last night’s SNL… Glad to see that people are getting more comfortable being funny (witness Wednesday’s The Onion for proof)…. I also just wanted to point out that Tina Fey is a hottie. That is all.

Ok, not quite all… My back is all hosed right now… Must have been slaving away over a canning operation or something…
