I’m grateful for the opportunity and all, but FAST is the first company to ask for a non-ascii version of my resume since I graduated.. I had stopped maintaining my formatted version simply because people weren’t interested… So now I had to start over again and create a whole new formatted version… And I did it in Gobe Productive, so I created a PDF for them, hopefully that won’t be a problem..
From November 17-22, Drew Daniel and Martin Schmidt, a
composing-performing duo who call themselves MATMOS, will be in
residence at Harvard under the auspices of Learning From Performers.
Based in San Francisco, MATMOS’s diverse output combines musique
concrete, field recordings, live instrumentation, and electronic
manipulation which incorporates phrases and sampling of both their own
and others’ source material. The duo’s biggest claim to fame is their
association with singer-composer Björk, who engaged them to open for
and play back-up on her “Vespertine” tour last spring.
Matmos has released several CDs; their most recent, “The Chance to Cut
is the Chance to Cure” on the Matador label, grew out of recordings
taken of surgical procedures (both Drew and Martin’s fathers are
surgeons).
Drew and Martin’s Harvard residency will begin with a
lecture-performance on Sunday, November 17, at 7 pm in Science Center
Hall B. (Admission is free and open to the general public.)
It’s no secret that things aren’t looking up at work, so I have started looking around for new work… With the help of Steve today I arranged an interview at FAST for next wednesday. Should be interesting, and i’m pretty sure that i’m capable, so it will hopefully go well. The job is in Wellsley though, so I would have to get a car… I guess that isn’t a problem though, as long as the compensation allows for it.. :P
This new Scorn album, Plan B, seems pretty damn good so far too
What do you get when you combine classic Black Flag songs with tons of cool-ass artists (like Henry Rollins, Dean Ween, Lemmy [yes, THAT Lemmy], Chuck D, Keith Morris, Iggy Pop, Mike Patton, Ice T, and More) on a benefit CD for the very-maligned West Memphis Three? Put succinctly - 24 tracks that will rip your balls off if you don’t listen carefully. Go buy now.
Back a few days after 9/11 the owners of this building took photos of everyone for id badges. Today, more than a year later, they have finally delivered the badges…
In the photo I look like a giant fat-ass, which is a nice reminder of how much weight I have lost in the past year… It is a nice feeling. :)
Went to the galleria mall for lunch with Adam. On the way back to the office we were delayed by the Barnum & Bailey Circus crossing Binney on our way… Fortunately my hiptop’s camera was on hand for the festivities…
