I have been feeling really lousy the past few days… Sore throat, coughing, runny nose, my typical fall cold… It figures I had to be sick for my interview yesterday… I think it went fairly well, but we will see how things work out… Got a haircut today and had lunch with some of my former coworkers… While I was pretty sad about the whole thing initially, I am feeling much better about it… While it sucks to be unemployed, I am also relaxing and centering myself.. I’m sure a bit more of this nothing and I will start bugging out..
I am headed out to Amherst/Northhampton to spend the weekend chilling at Frances’ house with Frances (well, duh, it’s her house), Matt, and Karen… I am dumping the remaining Sopranos episodes to VHS for Karen right now so we can watch them this weekend… There are only 3, but I had to spread them across 2 tapes because Matt’s VCR remote is missing and I couldn’t change the tape speed…
Over the past few days/weeks I have also done a great job of proving my ignorance and complete lack of awareness of my surroundings… Remember, friends, the Sean Graham is an ignorant beast, and you really have to shout at him before he knows what the hell is going on…
Update: I forgot to mention that Wednesday morning, as I was going to the interview, it was snowing out… Hopefully I have a job so I can go skiing this year!
This weekend was a blast, plenty of stuff to do to distract me from my recent predicament… Saturday I hung out with Frances and Karen who came out early for the FAFShow… We headed over to the Coolidge around 10pm to get tickets and get in line early to ensure a good seat. We soon realized that we were WAY too early and decided to go for a short walk… We ended up way the hell out of the way back by the CVS on Comm Ave. by Harvard Ave… So we ended up walking back up Harvard Ave. to the theater and there was still no line… But it was like 11pm so we began the queue.. All that sillyness aside, we had alot of fun at the show, the animations this year were hysterical, especially the human-penguin sweet love… Much less risque than last year’s show, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.. Afterwards we ended up at pixietart’s house for a small party after the show… Karen brought some of her cakes from school (she is almost done training as a Pastry Chef), which were quickly consumed by all involved… Holy shit, they were yummy..
We stayed at the party until around 4am or so and came back… John Holt and his lady friend Mary crashed on our couch… Today Karen, Frances, Matt and I went to Harvard Square to Million Year Picnic and they shopped for comics… I spent the majority of that time reading a Howard the Duck comic, just because it amused me.. :P I helped Karen catch up on two more episodes of the Sopranos, so she is only 2 or 3 episodes behind now… I think next weekend I am heading out to Frances’ place in Northhampton for some fun out there… Talk of a bike ride has been bandied about, so that should be fun…
This is probably the last journal entry I will post as a Rovia employee… I would link to the Rovia homepage, but I am not sure if it will be there much longer…
I’m upstairs @ the middle east waiting for the next band, Radian, toget going… I came out tonight to check out Pan-american, which was good (although boring visually)… The first band, Signer, was boring as hell… If I wanted drones I would leave my PC on at night…
The sales staff here were just officially let go… No word yet as to when my last day will be, but this dead man walking nonsense is getting a bit tiring…. Guess I can’t complain to much as long as I am getting a check… Found out I have 7.5 vacation days in the back, which will be payed out.. And hopefully they will come through with severance..
In good news, FAST called me back for a second round of interviews next week…
In my “recently unemployed” depression I had forgotton about the FAFShow this weekend!!!
After my interview today I headed into work and sat at my desk browsing the web and looking for jobs. Some Moonbase Commander was also played, but Carlos trounced me..
That wasn’t that bad…. It ended up being a lot longer than planned,
as they wanted me to meet a bunch of other people, so they must not
think I’m a leper… ;)
Well, I left way too early, so I am now sitting in the parking lot
listening to Howard. It was raining out, plus I have never driven out
this way, so I gave myself extra time… Well, it’s a really short
trip. :)
