A warm birthday salute goes out to jeffm.

Today was spent playing Risk over the network with some of my co-workers (and dominating, may I add), penciling out a design for a rad-ass distributed load test client for our RSP (rovia secure protocol) daemons, and eating free lunch.
This is what was on the CD I made for phyber this weekend. Alot of it is from discs I have acquired recently (being the past 6 months), but I did have to sneak an older Coil track on there just for fun. :)
Amazon sent me a \$10 gift certificate for my “Amazoniversary”. :) I used it to preorder the Godfather DVD Collection.
I made a mix cd for phyber this weekend containing a bunch of music I have scored recently that I thought she might dig. I think it came out pretty good.
So there’s this kid, he mash it up all over the place
With the dub plate pressure all up in your face
Go tell that Kid 6 0 6 do that ruff-neck soldier thing
with the DSP, gwan have to modulate the ring
we talking Cubase V S T, with the hyperprism mods
make the kids go crazy you can see it in their nods
now mister 6 0 6, 6 0 6 with the hybrid gabber-core
no more dub plate pressure make the girls scream, ‘give me some more’
so me say: gwan mister peace officer gwan take me down-town (beh)
know the dubplate pressure’s now the hottest thing around
now hear this: kid starting to sweat the technique, man he look like he gwan trying way too hard at not a thing, while the selector spin down…
ganja man you gwan, put up your spliff
get the T H C pumping in your veins, then others take a whiff (selector)
so that kid, he gwan putting up a scene
man it real hard to believe that he’s only nine-teen (feh!)
Thanks to the people of the b0st0n community, I now have a decent dial-up ISP here in boston to replace the shitty free one I was using (bluelight.com). Dialup sucks, but it isn’t so bad when your provider doesn’t blow chunks. :)
It is 10am, and I am still home. You may ask to yourself: “Why isn’t Sean at work?”. Well, the truth is that I can’t put off laundry any longer, so I am taking care of the mountain and going into work a bit later to wrap up loose ends for our code freeze tonight. Being I was at work for 13 hours yesterday, I imagine it will not be a problem. I have about another 30 minutes left on the dry cycle before I go back to the laundromat to pick my stuff up, fold it, take a shower, and go to Rovia.
What else is new? Not much, I guess…. I pretty much buttoned up my big feature for the next release yesterday, so I have been picking up little things to help out the other 4 developers where I can. I went to bed around midnight yesterday and had the best night’s sleep I have had in a long time. The kind of sleep where you wake up, without an alarm, fully rested, but decided to stay in bed and just relax until your alarm goes off… Today I am Fort Knox.
One of my co-workers is listening to Ani DiFranco. I wish that overrated idiot would just drop off the edge of pluto……
….. Travolta…. :)
I love this album….
I have been watching the new HBO series Six Feet Under regularly now. The show revolves around the lives of a family who runs a funeral home, and last night they were hosting the funeral of a Porn Star. I just find it amusing to think of deep-future archeologists, exhuming human bodies, finding many ribcages with two sacks of silicone/saline sitting on top of them perfectly preserved….
My dad visited this weekend, which is way cool… We headed down to the Boston Museum of Science yesterday to check out some of the exhibits and " Shackleton’s Antarctic Adventure" in their Omnimax theater. It was a pretty good show, and theater seemed pretty well-equipped. We made it to the trains just before the big lightining storm, and we only had to walk from the train stop to my apartment in the downpour. During that short walk, however, there was a lightining strike literally a few hundred feet away from us, and we heard residual arcing and whatnot, pretty wild.
This morning we woke up early (well, actually, he woke up his usual time, 6am, and I woke up at 8:30am. ;) and headed out to see the U.S.S. Constitution, which was an amazing site. I have been here for two months now, and I am only starting to have time to realize the historical significance of the area that i am in. I mean, New Jersey was very important to the revolution as well, but this area is teeming with historical sites. To think that Paul Revere had stood where I did today, it’s a real mind job.
He left a little while ago, and I have just been cleaning around here… My dad brought up a small vacuum for me to use around here (thanks grandma), so I finally feel like the floors are clean (even after a good sweeping they never felt right). My dad also gave me my “black glass diploma”, which is basically a repllica of my paper diploma etched into beveled black glass. It looks hyper-sexy, but I have to figure out a way to light it so the letters glow.. *eg*
To do laundry or not to do laundry, that is the question….
