We lost Ted Demme (Nephew of Jonathan Demme) yesterday… He apparently died of a heart attack during a celebrity basketball game at the age of 38…. While he did direct some bad movies, he also directed some wonderful ones, and I was starting to get the sense that he was getting good….

This weekend was tons of fun… Amy arrived Friday night (before I got home from work, which musta sucked for her since she had to wait for me for awhile), and we soon fetched dinner at Moogy’s (their wonderful peanut-butter chip & banana pancakes!), and afterwards we went to go see Amelie, which she seemed to enjoy. Saturday we woke up and headed out to Harvard Square to find some food and check out some vintage/thrift stores… She found a really cute sweater and she bought a ton of clothes at The Garment District from their “Dollar a Pound” section. We ended up going to The Good Life in Central for dinner, which was great, I will definately be going back there. After dinner we walked to the Cheesecake Factory and got some slices to go for dessert and we went home (and ate the cheesecake once we got there). We watched some TV and listened to music, and ended up going to bed much later than reasonable.
Sunday we shopped some more and headed over to Adam & Rory’s last night for dinner (Adam made Pulled Pork from scratch… Yum…) It was definately a fun weekend, although I think I could have used some more sleep this morning… Amy left just before I left for work, and here I am… My joints all hurt, and I am really not that interested in being at work today, but whatever….
Big meeting at 2pm, after which I am gonna go home to meet Amy, who left NJ about an hour ago. She is apparently coming up solo after all, Alan backed out at the last minute.
This meeting should provide me with some much-needed direction regarding MM27…

The “Code Name” for our new project here at work is “MM27”….. It stands for “Monkey Metroid 27”…. That cracks me up…
Well, I was fairly successful in my sleep endeavors last night, falling asleep around 1a and waking up to the alarm clock at 8:30. I am still pretty tired, though, but I will hopefully be able to rectify that over the next few days… Amy and her friend Alan are going to visit me this weekend, which on second though could truly preclude me from catching up on any necessary sleep, but whatever, it should be a good time. Since her last visit, I have found many vintage stores that she might be interested in checking out. She has yet to see Amelie, it is apparently hard to come by in NJ, so I will get to see it again (which doesn’t bother me whatsoever, it was such a pretty movie). Should be a fun weekend…
I am sick of being exhausted all day, so I am forcing myself to bed right now… We will see exactly how successful this will be… :)
Good Eats ruled tonight… It combined 3 of my favorite shows (Junkyard Wars, Iron Chef, and of course, my favorite, Good Eats).
I read this and it made me think of oh-so-many discussions while working on the DCS…
Tapes need to be cycled every few years in order to reliably retain data.
This is why NASA is having difficulty holding on to data… by the time a dataset is archived, it needs to be transferred to a new tape!
In other news, sometimes writing design documents is fun, other times it isn’t…. This is one of those “isn’t” times… :)
