In an hour or so I am heading out with Mom to visit my kid sister, Aimee, at her new apartment in Bloomsburg… I haven’t been out to her school since before I moved to Boston, and it will be nice to see where she is living these days… I guess the plan is to show up between two of her classes, hang out for awhile, keep busy while she is in her evening class, then go out to dinner afterwards.
I am heading back to Boston tomorrow morning… I am have a ticket for the 1pm bus from Penn Station which should place me in Boston around 5pm… Not sure exactly what is going on this weekend, but I am supposed to get together with at some point to celebrate her graduation…. That is all probably contingent on how well her shelter quest goes…
I had better take a shower before my mom comes home with breakfast (Taylor Ham & Cheese!!!)
I’ve been back in NJ for about a day now…. Last night I grabbed some pizza with the folks and watched some TV with them…. Met up with some friends at the Quiet Man in Dover and eventually went to Travellers Diner for snacks… This morning I grabbed a Taylor Ham and Cheese (THC) sandwich with my sister and visited Mr. Hirlemann (my HS photo teacher)… Posts will be sporadic this week as not much (hopefully) is going on…
The halloween party at Frances’ was fun, but wasn’t much of a party… Only a handful of people showed up and there wasn’t much Halloween about the party… I have a picture of my Mr. Belvedere costume, I will get it up soon…
Matt and I originally planned on returning to Boston on Friday, but Karen had the great idea to go back to Six Flags on Saturday… We even got free tickets courtesy of Frances’ brother Tom (who works as a “make stuff blow up” tech at the park)…. So Matt and I hung around on Friday while Frances was at work and Karen was at school… The two of us went to go see Jackass, which was just obsurd. Afterwards, we picked Frances up from work and returned back… After she got out of school, Karen came back out to Northampton and we just hung around and got some food…Six Flags was a blast, but it was SO DAMN COLD…. The park was surprisingly full, moreso than the previous week, so that was a bit of a disappointment… And Karen was really upset that the Sky Coaster was closed yet again… After the park we went back to Frances’ and watched “Wet Hot American Summer”… Frances and Matt went to bed and Karen made some hazelnut toffee which is awesome…
Anyway, I had a lot of fun, even if I ran out of clean clothes today (i’m glad I overpacked as much as I did, I was originally only planning on staying out until Friday morning)… Had alot of fun cooking with Karen (even if I just was just a soux chef), and she is going to show me how to make bread in the near future, which is way cool… I like getting smart.
I’m gonna head back to New Jersey for a few days this week, maybe even leaving tomorrow if I can pull my shit together in time.
My costume came out really funny… It’s conceptually funny, though, so lots of people will ask me who I am supposed to be… When I tell them, they will lose their shit. =) I didn’t end up shaving based on the advice of several girls, I tried using moustache wax to make my moustache look straight and it didn’t work anyway, so it wouldn’t have been worth the hassle…
Did some job-search stuff this morning, after which I headed over to The Garment District to get some supplies for my halloween costume… In order to really pull off my costume though, I need to decide if I am willing to trim my goatee down toa moustache… I’ve had this goatee in place since 1997 or so, and it’s going to look pretty funny without it…
I’ve been pretty lax in updating this thing recently…. Guess I have just been dealing with alot of stuff lately… Was in Northampton this weekend at Frances’ (as I mentioned in my last update)… Friday night we all went out to a way-cool playground by Frances’ house, probably the coolest playground I have ever seen… We monkeyed around there for a few hours and then retreated back to the apartment (and Karen went home). Saturday, Karen returned and the two of us went to Six Flags New England, which was tons of fun… The weather started out kinda crummy, so the park was really empty most of the day… We had lots of fun..
I have been feeling really lousy the past few days… Sore throat, coughing, runny nose, my typical fall cold… It figures I had to be sick for my interview yesterday… I think it went fairly well, but we will see how things work out… Got a haircut today and had lunch with some of my former coworkers… While I was pretty sad about the whole thing initially, I am feeling much better about it… While it sucks to be unemployed, I am also relaxing and centering myself.. I’m sure a bit more of this nothing and I will start bugging out..
I am headed out to Amherst/Northhampton to spend the weekend chilling at Frances’ house with Frances (well, duh, it’s her house), Matt, and Karen… I am dumping the remaining Sopranos episodes to VHS for Karen right now so we can watch them this weekend… There are only 3, but I had to spread them across 2 tapes because Matt’s VCR remote is missing and I couldn’t change the tape speed…
Over the past few days/weeks I have also done a great job of proving my ignorance and complete lack of awareness of my surroundings… Remember, friends, the Sean Graham is an ignorant beast, and you really have to shout at him before he knows what the hell is going on…
Update: I forgot to mention that Wednesday morning, as I was going to the interview, it was snowing out… Hopefully I have a job so I can go skiing this year!
