Slept well last night, for a change. I went to Boston Market for lunch and bought a replacement keyboard on the way back. It is pretty nice, and hopefully it won’t croak on me several times a day, requiring me to disconnect/reconnect it from the computer each time. :)
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are my really packed days…. All those days I have class from 1-4, then from 8-10. Add in all the CSH stuff, then meals, and the days can seem really long.
Thursday and Friday, however, are rather light for me. I would like to be working today, but I have alot of homework and project work I need to scrub before I can do work-work. I will say though, it is nice to be taking classes that require real code again…. The last time I had that was last fall.
That is just an example of some of the amazing construction-worker banter that occured just outside my window early this morning.
I went down to the post office to snag my iButton stuff, but there were apparently two shipments, and this shipment only included the Java-Powered Crypto iButton. Unfortunately, this is useless to me until the other shipment comes in. :)
My iButton SDK is sitting in the RIT post office, but the bastards closed before I got out of class, so I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up.
I guess i will take advantage of this time to get my homework done for the rest of the week. Toys like this tend to suck my attention away for awhile. :)
Woke up early this morning to take care of a load or two of laundry. This weekend was super-fly, with the CSH Welcome-Back party and all. Friday night I went to Nick’s for the first time. Now, I had eaten Nick’s many, many, times in the past, but this was the first time that I actually ventured out there… It was amazing. :)
Every time I hear this song, I think of the Kids in the Hall. I wonder why? :)
I am taking wronk to the airport in about an hour. He is going out to interview with Sysco. I wish him luck, I always knew from his uptight manner and his choice of wardrobe that a career in foodservice was his destiny.
I only have two classes today: Prob/Stat and OS II, which is cool, because those are my toughest classes, so at least they are isolated from the rest of my schedule part of the week. I have some reading to do for both classes before I leave today, but most of it is just review.
I have had all my classes, leave Stellar Astronomy Lab (i’ve had the lecture), and all my professors seem relatively ok. None of the have struck me as particular hard-asses.
Today wasn’t too shabby. None of my classes seem entirely shitty. OS2 will be a challenge, but at least it will be a fun one.
I am pretty relaxed, but that will change as the quarter progresses. I am looking forward to getting out of here, unfortunately the next 6 months are in my way. :)
Finally starting to feel ‘moved in’ here at CSH. I am not completely done, but I am definately mostly done. The campus is so busy with freshmen and parents that it is almost not worth it to try and move around… :)
I tried to reinstall FreeBSD a little while ago and managed to completely scrog my partition table in the process. I thought I managed to almost completely lose all my data, but some creative fdisking got me back in working order. Perhaps I will use an idiot-proof tool like PartitionMagic to create my FreeBSD partition later.
So I am just chilling now, relaxing after a fairly stressful 24 hours.
