Beddy-bye time

grahams - - 1 min read

Ok, going to bed now… I just finished talking to Chris for quite awhile… She is doing well, and we are both currently suffering from the same affliction, so we can relate. :)

I don’t want to go to my classes tomorrow, but oh well. :) I tried to scrounge up some more pictures for here at LJ, but I haven’t found any I like yet.

I will now rest in my bed, which is coincidentally perpendicular to Lindsay’s crack.

Finishing our reruns of The Sopranos for Ethan. This episode is the last one of the first season, and we have 3 of the 2nd on VHS. But I don’t think we will get through all three tonight.

I will be writing up a lab report while I watch the first one, since I have seen it so recently.

Sleep is good.

That was a pretty decent sleep cycle… :) It took awhile falling asleep… I spent awhile second guessing decisions yesterday, but I resolved it all and fell asleep. Today I think I should do some laundry. I don’t know what else I am going to work on after that.. I have some things I want to work on with AliveJournal, different features and what-not, but we will see. I need to do an About Box for various reasons, and I have to do one up that isn’t fugly.

I haven’t taken a shower yet… Normally this bothers me, but I think right now it contributes to the “lazing around the house” mood I am in today. I will probably take on after I toss the laundry in…

Jasmine Tea is neat

After the college bowl, I was kinda bummed… In fact, I am still kinda bummed… But I gave Elph a call and she told me that I was going to eat Thai food tonight. :) We ended up at Thai Taste here in Rochester, and it wasn’t bad at all. I had a Cashew Chicken that was kinda spicy, but nothing too far out there..

Afterwards we came back to the dorms and watched Seven on DVD. Then we just chilled and talked about various things… She definately helped me beat the down feeling a bit. Now I am talking to Chris about Easter Eggs and About Boxes. :)

Alas....

We didn’t win. :(

We did pretty well in our first 2 games, but we lost the 3rd to a team from The Reporter, which pushed us into the loser’s bracket in this double-elimination tournament. We still had a chance to go all the way, and rallied for a few rounds, but we were ultimately eliminated by a second team from the “House of General Science” (we beat their first team).

Oh well… Everyone went to eat now, and are ultimately going to see Thirteen Days this evening… Lindsay asked me to ring her if I was doing anything tonight… Perhaps I will ring her even though I am not doing anything… :) Perhaps she is as bored as I am.. :)

Thinkin' Time

Time to go be smart at the College Bowl! If you happen to be in the area between 10 and 4pm, come by the SAU at RIT and cheer the CSH team on!

Elph is neat.

I just got back from seeing Thirteen Days with Lindsay. Sometimes you feel guilty for not spending time with friends, and the past few weekends have caused me to feel that way. I need to realize that there is a life outside of this campus more often…. Anyway, I really enjoyed the film, and Lindsay said she did as well… It clocked in at about 2.5 hours… Between this and Traffic, it seems that Hollywood might be losing its fear of films longer than 90 minutes….

Upon my return to floor I noticed a few emails regarding AliveJournal. People seem to be pleased with version 1.5b, which is good, because I believe it is pretty solid now. For those interested, I started a new community journal named alivejournal to act as a changelog and a way for for me to get some feedback…

My Ol Factory tells me that someone is making Hot Chocolate down the hall, and I am developing a craving… Perhaps a trip downstairs is in order… :) I need some new journal pictures… I don’t know if I even have decent pictures of myself to put there….

Found it!

I finally found the “Hang on LJ Transaction” bug in the AliveJournal code. There is a class ResponseBlockManager that does a really good job of busting the server responses into a hashtable-like gizzer. The class was written by the original author, and is super-useful. Unfortunately there was an assumption in there that would occasionally cause a buffer to get scrogged.

Anyway, I am positive that the “Hang on Login” and the “Writer doesn’t clear after submission” bugs are now squashed…. I am going to package up a fixed version now.. (I also made the “Clear” button actually do something in the WriterWIndow… :P

Damned Steam Pipe

We had a fire alarm about an hour ago, it turns out it was semi-legit this time around. A steam pipe burst in the tunnels, which caused someone to pull the alarms in two buildings. Supposedly we won’t have hot water until some time tomorrow, but I haven’t tried it yet.

I am talking to Chris on the phone now.. She is flexing the ability of her new-found TACness.

That seminar was potentially the most pitiful display of public speaking I have ever been a witness to. The speaker had far too many verbal ticks (uhhhh, ummmm, like, and….) to allow me to focus on her point, and she brought in so many external references without really explaining what her point was. How did these quotations relate to the viewpoints she is trying to relate to us.

Grrrr…. Now I have to write a paper based on this lecture for next Wednesday’s class… I don’t even know what her point was….
