Met Jon Whitney for lunch in Harvard Sq. at Casa Mexico… It was great and cheap (about half the price of a dinner there)… I feel kinda guilty about getting Mexican for lunch two days in a row (we hit up Boca Grande yesterday), but so it goes… :)

Kim Deal was wearing a Space Invaders sweater before the show last night, it is the coolest sweater I have ever seen…

Work is hard right now, I am having to write alot of code to make up for the fact that we are using such an old version of Mozilla (things that are in mozilla now aren’t in the ancient snapshot we are using), and that aggravates me… :)

This is amazing.

The Breeders

Ahhh…. Welcome back, Deal Sisters… They rocked tonight, I don’t really have much else to say… Frances took pictures, I will hopefully have my hands on them soon…

My earplugs kicked ass, and I fully endorse them.. Drove past the new apartment on the way home… Man, I am so psyched!

Shower then bedtime…

Cool as Kim Deal

Going to leave for dinner before the Breeders show tonight…. I am in the mood for a good rock show, so hopefully I won’t be disappointed.

My journal has finally been clustered, and it is way-fast now! I can’t wait until everyone is clustered…..

RAD!

The realtor contacted me to let me know that the lease has been signed, sealed, and delivered. I am picking up our copy of it on the way home.. I called to activate phone and DSL, but I won’t find out about the DSL until Monday.

A big wave of relief now passes over me… :)

Slow going

Too many meetings to really get up to speed today… I have to do another interview this afternoon…. Still haven’t heard back from the realtor, will have to give him a call after the interview if I don’t hear from him…. It’s really annoying, because until I have a signed copy of the lease, nothing is final, and this landlord has every opportunity to back out.

Looking forward to The Breeders concert tomorrow night… It is very sold out, so I imagine that it will be extraordinarily crowded, but that is par for the course at the Middle East these days… I will finally get to try out my new earplugs at a show, so by Wednesday I should be able to either endorse them or cast them away… :) This is the first (only?) gig on this tour in Boston, and since they are a hometown band, it should be most heinous.

Download: Inception - The Subconsious Jams 1994-1995

I finally got my copy of the first disc in the Subconsious Communications " Into the Vault" collection. The first disc of this series features the early work of the band Download, which at the time was comprised of cEvin Key, Phil Western, Dwayne Goettel, and Mark Spybey. These recordings are from 1994-1995, from the period leading up to the recording of their first (and best) album, Furnace until the release of Eyes of Stanley Pain

It is difficult for me to say much about this album that isn’t positive, because so far I really like what I hear. This isn’t surprising, though, because “Furnace” is definately in my top 10 albums. This album also gives me yet another taste of the genius of Dwayne, and makes me lament his death. While there have been quite a few projects taken up by Skinny Puppy members since Dwayne passed away, they all seem to pale in comparison to the work that he had influence on.

This album isn’t as raw as “Furnace”, but has many of the same characteristics. Since the album is comprised of many session jams, it isn’t expected to be as layered as one of Download or Skinny Puppy’s studio albums. Given that, this album brought many smiles to my face as I was listening to it loudly as I cleaned my apartment today. I believe that there are still a few copies of this limited edition disc available, and I fully endorse it’s purchase by fans of Download or those who enjoy more experimental dance music.

Remember...

…those 15 minutes where figure skating was actually interesting? You know, when there were lead pipes to the knee and DUI allegations? Thank god for Tivo…. I am looking forward to the rest of Women’s Moguls after these idiots get done with their triple-axels….

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS SACRED! I KNOW THAT MICROSOFT TRIED TO MAKE THINGS BETTER IN XP, BUT WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MESS WITH THE ONE TRUE GAME?!!!?!?!??!?!

For the first time since installing XP I played Solitare… When I won, the cards dropped at a snails pace… One of the greatest things about beating solitaire was watching the cards wig out after you won… DAMN THEM!!!!!!!!!

The past few days at work have given me a big-ol headache that still hasn’t gone away… It isn’t work sucking, it is just spinning wheels a bit because we are still using Mozilla 0.9.1 as our base (where Mozilla is currently moving towards 0.9.9, which is a HUGE difference in “mozilla years”). I read documentation that says stuff will work, and it appears to, but I always seem to get an NS_ERROR_NOT_IMPLEMENTED kick to the nuts after wasting hours on a then-obvious dead end.

I am going to bed, I need to rest, and I need to wake up whenever for a change. We still haven’t officially heard about the townhouse, but the realtor said that the landlord planned on signing the lease, and not to worry… His feeble attempt at calming me did nothing. :)
