Based on some conversations at work today (not to mention LinuxWorld) I
was inspired to (once again) install Linux on my PC at home. I’ve been on
the edge of doing so for awhile now, and I’ve been itching to do some
non-work coding, so I figured I would take some time tonight and get things
rolling. I am installing Gentoo 2004.3 from the ground up (Stage 1), so
it’s slow going even on my crazy, balls-out, PC. But I like Gentoo,
especially since their package management retains the spirit of BSD Ports.
Even
she’s never used it, although we’ll see how much she likes it, as she seems
resistant to UI change. :P
Looking out the window tonight I realize that I really love the
winter.
I hear ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.2/iso/SUSE-Linux-9.2-FTP-DVD.iso isn’t that bad. … but, what do I know? ;)
Let the holy wars begin…
