If you are ever curious as to what temperature it is in my room, visit http://kobe.rh.rit.edu/. It is a webserver running on my TINI board. It gets the temperature from a Thermometer iButton.

Welcome to the next level.
It’s 01-01-01… It’s a binary year, enjoy it…
Not looking forward to going back to Rochester tomorrow… Perhaps it’s just me being bitchy, but I am so tired of being there…
I just made a Taylor Ham & Cheese sandwich, which is damn-difficult to find outside of Jersey (at least, a good one is hard to find).
Should I work on putting more information on my webpage, like bio info, links, and shiz? Does anyone actually care about me that much?
Damned dust…
This break, I had the opportunity to play some video games, but I noticed that my machine was locking up on occasion… It started frustrating me, so I decided to investigate… I installed the latest drivers yesterday, and it was still crashing today, so I cracked the case open…
The fan on my videocard decided to fill itself with dust and seize…. I took out the card, blew as much dust out of it as possible, and WD-40ed the fan, and it spins pretty well again…. Hopefully that was it..
Time to take a shower….
I just woke up a little whlie ago, and am about to jump in the wet room. I have been screwing around with the Jabber Instant Messaging system this morning. It seems kinda neat, since it not only supports their own open-standard, open-source, XML based messaging protocol, but when you connect to one of their servers, it also acts like a ‘proxy’ to AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, etc. So you can have one unified client to communicate on many different networks.
I am not a big fan of ICQ or AIM, but I have recently been forced into using them.. :) So I figured it would at least need some geek-factor… :P
Doing work.
Well, schoolwork finally caught up with me, and I spent most of the morning putting the finishing touches on a paper for Senior Seminar. After class this evening, I am going to spend some time studying for a Calc 3 quiz tomorrow, and then I am going to watch the 3 new episodes of Junkyard Wars that will premiere this evening.
CSH will be doing to systems maintenance and upgrading over the next few days, so if you have to read my journal, you can find it at http://grahams.livejournal.com/. You won’t get any of the other stuff on my page there, but you will get the journal stuff…. Of course, if you are that concerned with my life, perhaps you should go check your head. :P
Brr….
After taking a few days off from it, I started to hack on Drink again. Today, I removed a stupidity from the protocol that was inherited from whatever stub daemon that Joe initially used.. It stuck a Null character (\0) at the end of each line of a STAT response. Joe has an excuse, he hacked his client/server out in 10 hours over a weekend. I was just lazy. :P
I cleaned up the source and UI for the Unix commandline client that Joe wrote as well. That is more of an ongoing battle with my dislike for straight ‘C’ more than anything. :)
It certainly does look cold and solid wet outside.
I’ve got a drink-ing problem
Ok, so I continue to work on drink. :) As I believe I have mentioned before, we have broken the project up into phases. The first phase is laying down the infrastructure for the machine and enabling people to ask what drinks are in the machine and letting them drop a drink…
As of this morning, I believe that this phase is now complete. I wrapped up a few loose ends, changed the way I was authenticating users, made users timeout if they picked their nose for too long… This project is certainly keeping my attention. Plus, I talked with Bill about licensing the code, and we agreed on a BSD-style license.. :P Down with the GPL!

2 Gigs!?!?!?
Woke up this morning around noon, and went down to observe and assist in a memory upgrade for one of CSH’s machines.. Fury now has 2 gigs of RAM, which is alot.
I kinda went down there just after my shower, so we are all gonna go out for lunch now…
So i’m a junkie…
Ok, well, I sure am glad that me pappy got a cable modem, because I am currently downloading the 127MB demo for Quake III Team Arena which was released a few minutes ago. The transfer is screaming now (I’m already past 75%), so I should be able to play any minute now… :)
