What an awesome weekend in every respect! Friday night
Saturday morning, Chuck arrived from NJ for a weekend visit. We parked his car over at Alewife and headed out to Kelly’s Roast Beef for lunch. We did all kinds of things this weekend, including heading out to the MFA, Summer Shack, flew (and not crashing) my helicopter, saw “The Departed” (was amazingly awesome), and a bunch of other stuff. He left yesterday afternoon and got home safely without any trouble. Totally awesome.
Corinna and I watched Four Brothers last night, which was a steaming pile of crap. I expected an enjoyably trashy flick, but it was just terrible. There were about 3 minutes where I actually enjoyed watching it.
I actually enjoyed the “webpisodes” (I agree that is the worst name ever) it gave a bit more back story on the resistance and made Colnel Tai seem more and more like a total asshole. I havn’t yet seen the second half of the premire, I’m at the point where Doc blows himself up. I’m eager to see what happens. I am a huge fan of Gaius Baltar, I just can’t get enough of that character, that and now “fatty” Lee. That was by far the biggest disappointment, Adam and I always looked forward to a ripped shirtless Lee scene, that was by far the worst part.
I don’t think you have to worry about Lee being a fatty for very long… And the ladies I saw the show with were disappointed he was plumped-out as well..
The web episodes (I can’t even bring myself to type the word) weren’t terrible, but they just weren’t up to par. I would have much preferred one REAL episode covering all that material…
And new Baltar is 1000x better than Baltar from the original series, who made William Shatner’s acting look restrained.
The departed was amazing, well worth the 9 bucks!
