Still Alive

I know most of you will be looking for a more substantial update as to my condition, but that will have to wait… Here’s the short version (more details to come):

I broke my leg/knee really bad skiing on Saturday… I needed surgery on Sunday to rebuild my leg, which was successful. I just got home from the hospital a little while ago thanks to , , . I’m going to be stuck here for a few weeks, maybe returning to work half-days starting in like 2 weeks. I won’t be able to drive or put any weight on my right leg for like 8 weeks. Again, more details to come once I settle in a bit.

Thanks to everyone for their awesome support, especially my folks, the aforementioned, and , Scott, Mike, and everyone else I’m forgetting… Time for some rest, and I’ll be back with more later.

  1. Wow, that sounds like it sucks. Glad to hear the surgery went well. At least you have time to get ahead on your movie watching for the year.

  2. Oh man that sucks. Sorry dude. And this coming from someone who knows a thing or two about breaking a knee while skiing. Ok, I’ve never broken my own knee, but I have broken the knee of my (at that time) future wife. From what she tells me, it sucks pretty bad. Heal fast man!

  3. Glad you’re home!!!

I’m very glad that you’re finally home!!! Been thinking about you a lot and will call you soon….just want to give you enough time to rest up!! I love you lots, brudder!!!! Get Better!!!

  4. I totally understand, however, I didn’t need surgery. All I remember was pain.. and loving my pain killers.

Get better soon. I will be thinking of you and saying prayers.

  5. Doh! Man that really sucks :( The thought of doing that makes my stomach turn. Get better dude :)

Details… we need details. Did you hit something? Or were you jumping out of a helicopter in the backcountry?

  6. Bummer…

    Dude… ouch.

    I like the icon though.

Ask Allison. The number one song in America today is “Teenage Suicide, Don’t Do It” by Big Fun. Westerburg finally got one of these things, and I’m not going to blow it.

  7. holy crap! That sounds terrible. Best of luck on a painless recovery.

BTW, I’m in a hotel room and it has a personal safe called, “elsafe”, good for small items in need of safe gaurding for El Jew.

  8. d00de, you’re not supposed to get off the lift until it gets to the *top* of the mountain.

Seriously, that bites. If I believed in a god I’d probably say something like, “I’ll pray for your speedy recovery”. But I don’t and how vain is it to think that he/she/it would care what I wanted anyway?

So instead I’ll have someone else drink to a speedy recovery. ;-)
