I ordered some parts to upgrade my PC in anticipation for the upcoming FPS fiesta that is the release of DOOM3 (and hopefully the release of Half-Life 2 as well). I will now have a 3.0Ghz P4 with 1GB of RAM. For the time being, I will continue to use my GeForce 4 Ti4600 that I have in the PC, because with the imminent release of these huge games I feel that video cards are still at gouge prices. After some time passes I will score a ATi Radeon X800. I knew I had to upgrade my machine, and this was a pretty cheap way of doing it. The disadvantage: I hate building machines… It never goes smoothly.

Anyway, my current PC is in NJ, and I will be building it out there while I am home for and Tom’s wedding. I will also be taking the leftover parts from my upgrade and building out a machine for Larissa.

  1. Thank you!

Thank you so much, I can’t stand that computer anymore. I hope that all goes well with your trip down here, let me know if you need any money to help put the computer in working order.

No problem… Thanks to my upgrade, you went from getting a free Dual Pentium II 350Mhz to a free Dual Pentium III 1.0Ghz. I am probably just opening up myself to get made fun of, as you probably don’t know/care about the difference, but put it this way: the PII computer would have been like 5-6 times faster than what you have now. The PIII computer will be 20-24 times faster, or so…

  2. Cool

You were correct in your assumption that I have no idea what that means, but thanks for explaining it. I would be happy with a computer that did not have the image of naked Pamela Anderson permanently fixed on it. I am hoping that this computer will allow me to have my own desktop, so I don’t have to look at her anymore. I think I could do it on the current computer, but I think it is so loaded with viruses, it has become incapable of doing anything except downloading music, and the occasional browse of the internet.
